AE4RIA at the e-CODOMH Cluster Conference 2025: Advancing Sustainable Construction in Greece

The e-CODOMH Conference 2025 represented a landmark event for sustainable construction in Greece. Held on 11–12 November at the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos,” the conference convened over 300 participants from industry, research, and policy sectors. As the inaugural event of the e-CODOMH innovation cluster, it provided a dynamic platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the presentation of cutting-edge technological solutions.

Under the theme “Building a Sustainable Future for Construction,” the conference addressed key challenges and opportunities in the sector, featuring sessions on:

  • Digital Twins & Digitalization

  • Green Renovation & Sustainable Construction

  • Circular Economy & Decarbonization

  • Energy Efficiency in Buildings

  • Resilience & Climate Adaptation

  • Policy, Regulation, and Finance

  • Greek Construction Case Studies

Distinguished speakers included:

  • Anastasiya Yurchyshyna, European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP)

  • Kalliopi Papadaki and Efthimios Bakogiannis, Hellenic Ministry of Environment & Energy

  • Representatives from Elval Colour, UBITECH, Knauf Insulation, CORE Innovation Group, and others

AE4RIA represented by Dr. Ebun Akinsete (PhD), Eleni Toli, Panagiota Koltsida, and Stavroula Samara (BSc, M.A.). Three AE4RIA-led projects, under the scientific leadership of Professor Dr. Phoebe Koundouri, were showcased during the conference:

  • Dr. Ebun Akinsete presented the ARSINOE_EU and CARMINE projects, highlighting climate resilience and stakeholder co-creation for developing innovative solutions in urban and metropolitan areas.

  • Stavroula Samara introduced the BuildSkills Academy, emphasizing a flexible training program and a self-assessment digital platform developed by the AE4RIA team.

The conference underscored the essential role of cross-sector collaboration, data-driven tools, and inclusive innovation in transforming Europe’s built environment. AE4RIA continues to advance systems innovation for sustainability through research, policy engagement, and stakeholder collaboration.
