The first event of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Economic Forum 2023 entitled “Green Finance and the Challenges of Sustainable Development” took place on Thursday, April 13th, at the Bosniak Institute – Adil Zulfikarpasic Foundation and online. The focus of the Forum was the challenges that have been set in front of civilization in the post-pandemic, globally critical period of time and the unsusceptibility of sustainable development, as well as the role of green financing in the achievement of goals of sustainable development in the world, Europe, and especially the Western Balkans and the countries of the region.
Prof. Phoebe Koundouri, in her capacity as Co-Chair of SDSN Europe, participated in the SESSION 1 – REGIONAL PERSPECTIVE AND BEYOND. Her speech focused on the absence of an explicit and detailed socioeconomic narrative for the sustainability transition: “We need to develop it as soon as possible and this is exactly what my team at the SDSN Global Climate Hub is working on”

The event was organized by the University of Sarajevo – School of Economics and Business and the SDSN network of the Western Balkans in cooperation with partner institutions (The Bosniak Institute – Foundation Adil Zulfikarpašić, Nizami Ganjavi International Center and Foundation Shared Societies and Values), under the auspices of the Raiffeisen Bank dd Bosnia and Herzegovina.
